Janet joined JFL in 2020, following the consolidation of Scotia Institutional Asset Management into JFL’s institutional business in September 2020. She brings over 22 years of experience to JFL. She manages institutional clients, including DB and DC pension plans to develop and deliver investment solutions. This has included fiduciary investment program design, investment structuring & implementation, asset mix, manager research oversight, investment & risk analytics, performance and compliance.
Prior to her role with Scotiabank, Janet was a managing partner and member of the Executive Committee of a successful asset management firm with clients across Canada. She has held progressively senior management roles with a major Canadian pension fund for 10 years including Director, Investment Research. Her previous experience includes positions in finance, audit and commercial operations at a major Canadian corporation.
She is a member of Women in Capital Markets, Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM), Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC) and Alternative Investment Management Association Canada (AIMA). She has Chaired various investment industry committees, including PIAC and AIMA. Janet has been a corporate director and an investment committee member of both charitable and not-for-profit organizations.
